WWE NXT heads to the CW on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, and will have a significant new rule set to be implemented on the show.
The channel premiere of WWE NXT will be a stacked show, with CM Punk already confirmed for an appearance.
Also set for the show are a number of big matches, including two championship matches and TNA Wrestling’s Zachary Wentz vs. Wes Lee in a street fight.
Dave Meltzer has now provided details of a change to WWE NXT on CW compared to its previous home of USA Network.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer stated that overruns will be a thing of the past, stating:
“We’re told another change in the show with the move on 10/1 is that it has to end at 9:59 p.m. because so many of the CW stations have news at 10 p.m., so no more overruns.”
Although not yet confirmed, it has been reported that Motor City Machine Guns could be making their debut on the October 1 episode of WWE NXT.
MCMG – Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin – are set to start with WWE “imminently” as the faces of the NXT tag team division.
Elsewhere in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer also revealed changes coming to WWE Raw when it moves to Netflix.
With the Monday night show heading to the streaming platform in January 2025, Meltzer has revealed it will feature adverts and a more flexible run-time.
