A WWE star has revealed that the police, on instructions of a state governor, tried to shut down the filming of an unusual match.
Nia Jax revealed what happened in a virtual signing for East Coast Autograph Auctions, saying:
“This was from the COVID Money in the Bank. Oh! That was a fun one, the theatrical Money in the Bank that we had.
“That was so much fun, where we almost got shut down by the Governor of Connecticut.
“They were knocking at the door, the police were knocking at the door, and somehow, we were able to still shoot it, and get it done!”
Whilst the Money in the Bank 2020 would see matches taking place live at the Performance Center in Orlando, both the men’s and women’s matches for the briefcase would be pre-taped at Titan Towers in Stamford, Connecticut.
The two matches would see the various competitors chasing each other around multiple floors of Titan Towers until Asuka would eventually beat Carmella, Dana Brooke, Lacey Evans, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler to win the Women’s Money in the Bank match, with Otis overcoming AJ Styles, Aleister Black, Daniel Bryan, King Corbin and Rey Mysterio for the men’s briefcase.
With plenty of room for WWE’s brand of comedy, much hilarity did ensue, as can be seen from the video below this news story.
