TNA Wrestling’s Nic Nemeth has revealed the real reason that he didn’t sign with AEW following his release from his WWE contract.
Known to WWE fans as Dolph Ziggler, Nic Nemeth parted ways with the company in September 2023, following a nineteen-year career there.
During a recent appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Nemeth opened up about past conversations with Tony Khan and his thoughts on AEW, saying:
“I love so many people there, I’ve had a couple conversations with Tony in the past.
“I’ve rooted for those guys every step of the way. I watch it every Wednesday because I talk about it on Thursday.
“I’ve come to learn all the people on the show and watch what they do. I don’t know if I could do all the stuff everyone does.
I can adapt to anything, I’ve even watched the 2025 version of me still apply some different things that I wouldn’t have done a few years ago.
“But I don’t know if in a 35, 45-minute match, if it wasn’t me and (Bryan Danielson) or (Jon Moxley) – I know what they do – but if it’s remembering a sequence…I would be more vacant in the match instead of feeling the emotion and just remembering it.
“I don’t know how they do it, but when it comes to those pay-per-views, they blow the roof off and it’s incredible.”
