Former WWE Star Praises AEW’s Mercedes Mone After Latest Title Win WWE

Mercedes Mone added to her growing collection of championships at AEW Grand Slam Mexico, and a former WWE star has addressed the win.

The June 18 show saw Mone face Zeuxis for the CMLL World Women’s Championship at Arena Mexico, going on to win the title.

With Mone now holding five championships, a former WWE star was asked about her win during an appearance on Busted Open Radio.

Nic Nemeth (known to many WWE fans as Dolph Ziggler) would reflect on Mone’s standing in professional wrestling, declaring:

“She’s number one at the moment. She’s the right age to be dominating, she’s picking up titles and making them worth more than they are without her.”

Nemeth noted that, with the multiple titles she holds, knowing that she’s on television regularly and knowing what she stands for as a professional wrestler adds to the value for any promotion in which she is champion.

In addition to the CMLL World Women’s Championship, Mercedes Mone also holds the AEW TBS Championship, EWA Women’s Championship, and the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship.

She also physically holds the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament belt after winning this year’s tournament, and the Queen of Southside belt which was unified with the RevPro gold, making a physical collection of six belts.

Mercedes Mone will have the opportunity to add another title to her collection at All In: Texas where she faces Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship.

The highly-decorated champion recently confirmed that she is dating fellow AEW star Beast Mortos.
