‘Greatest Of The Generation’: WWE’s Nick Aldis Praises AJ Styles WWE

Nick Aldis, the WWE SmackDown general manager, has praised AJ Styles for his early support in TNA Wrestling.

A backstage producer since 2023 and current WWE SmackDown general manager, Nick Aldis and AJ Styles first crossed paths in TNA Wrestling back in 2008.

Joining TNA Wrestling as Brutus Magnus, Aldis was just over four years into his career when he made his on-screen debut.

In a recent video shared on the WWE YouTube channel, Aldis looked back on the early days of his TNA Wrestling career and the support he received from AJ Styles, saying:

“When I came into TNA, I was so green. I was absolutely out of my depth, and a handful of guys in TNA really took me under their wing and helped me and, you know, gave me my career, and AJ’s one of those people.

“So grateful to him. I’ve had several matches with him that really meant a lot to me in my career.

“When I think of AJ, I just hope that AJ understands that many of us consider him really the greatest of the generation, and when the history books are written, when they talk about the evolution of the in-ring performance of this industry, I believe that chapter will begin with AJ Styles.”

Aldis would be released from TNA Wrestling contract in June 2015, having been TNA World Heavyweight Champion and two-time TNA World Tag Team Champion (with Doug Williams and Samoa Joe).

As an NWA star, he would return to TNA Wrestling in 2022, teaming with Mickie James at Multiverse of Matches, with a post-NWA return at Rebellion the following year leading to a brief run that would end in August ahead of his WWE signing.

Petey Williams and Dan Engler would also share their thoughts on their time with AJ Styles in TNA Wrestling, with other WWE stars sending heartfelt messages following the star’s final match.
