Shocking Roman Reigns Match Announced For WWE Night Of Champions 2023 WWE

UPDATE – The reason Sami Zayn is able to travel to Saudi Arabia has potentially been revealed, click here for more details.

On tonight’s edition of WWE SmackDown (May 12) there was a shocking match announcement for Roman Reigns’ opponent at WWE Night of Champions.

In a segment featuring the Tribal Chief finally meeting face to face in the ring with the Usos for the first time since their duo of big losses to Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for the WWE Tag Team Championship, a major piece of news broke.

Not only was a shocking match announcement made, part of the shock was who was involved in the planned match for Night of Champions set for May 27 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Announced by Paul Heyman, at Night of Champions Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will defend the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship against NOT the Usos, but instead, Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa.

That’s newsworthy not only because of Reigns being in a tag team title match, but also because it would mean Owens and Zayn travelling to Saudi Arabia.

Zayn has never traveled to Saudi Arabia for a WWE show before due to his Syrian heritage, while Owens did travel to the very first one in April 2018, but none since then.

We’ll keep you updated if anything changes for those reasons, because it would be a major surprise if it happens, but that’s the match as it was announced tonight.

You can check out the card for SmackDown below:
