A WWE NIL athlete signed to the inaugural class of the collegiate athletic program has won a gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Taking to Twitter to share the good news and congratulate the athlete, Triple H posted about the feat.
Triple H wrote:
“Huge congrats to inaugural #WWENIL class member Masai Russell on taking home Olympic gold in the 100m hurdles.”
The medal is Russell’s first medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, coming down to a photo finish with France’s Cyréna Samba-Mayela.
Masai Russell was signed to the inaugural WWE NIL class of athletes back in 2021 when she was competing at Kentucky in Track and Field.
Two other notable signees from that inaugural NIL class who continue to pursue their sports careers outside of WWE include basketball playing twins and influencers, Hanna and Haley Cavinder.
The WWE NIL program was announced in December 2021.
It’s described as providing “a clear pathway from college athletics to WWE through collaborative partnerships with college athletes from diverse athletic backgrounds” per the company recruitment page.
