Kota Ibushi Reveals Reason He’d ‘Certainly Work With WWE’ NJPW

A former NJPW star has revealed that they would consider a WWE move if more than wrestling was involved according to recent comments.

Since becoming a free agent, Kota Ibushi has spoken about the possibility of working for WWE as well as plans to open his own wrestling school.

He also recently revealed that he’d previously turned down a “big amount of money” from AEW in his 2018 contract talks with Tony Khan.

Now, Ibushi has laid out his idea for what he could bring to WWE.

In conversation with Dark Puroresu Flowsion, it was revealed that Ibushi would “certainly work with WWE” if he had the opportunity to “train and create the next generation of wrestlers” at the WWE Performance Center as well as “having some high profile matches.”

Ibushi has worked with WWE previously, taking part in the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic.

He would face Sean Maluta, Buddy Murphy, Cedric Alexander and Brian Kendrick before being eliminated by TJ Perkins.

His match against Alexander can be seen below this news story.

It was reported that, following his appearance in the Cruiserweight Classic, Ibushi had signed an “NXT-level deal” with WWE, however Ibushi would later refute this claim, saying he had received a contract offer but not signed it.

Following his WWE appearances, he would return to NJPW, though his relationship with the company would suffer over the years, with Ibushi having problems with upper management.

Following his free agency, there were reports of “major interest” from a number of companies in Ibushi, with fans speculating a move to AEW or WWE.
