WWE Not Bringing Independent Wrestler Back to TV

WWE Not Bringing Independent Wrestler Back to TV

WWE has rejected the opportunity to sign Ricky Martinez who was last seen on 205 Live battling Lio Rush on July 31. What seemed, at first glance, to be a typical squash match, encompassed something WWE officials did not like.

According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Martinez made a mistake which was frowned upon by management. While the specific bump that raised the ire of WWE officials is unknown, it has been heavily speculated that a spot where Martinez’s foot hit Lio Rush’s head was the deciding factor in him not being rehired. Although this is just speculation.

Ricky Martinez has worked as enhancement talent for WWE before, including in a tag team match with the War Raiders on NXT. However, that 205 Live match will be the last time that we see him in a WWE ring.
