There had been some speculation about whether or not WWE stars would be receiving the COVID-19 vaccine through WWE. Now, we know that will not be the case.
Fightful Select (subscription required) is reporting that WWE talent were informed recently that the company would not be providing them with the COVID-19 vaccine. Instead, the talent will be expected to schedule their own appointments to get it.
This has reportedly surprised several WWE stars as they were expecting the company to set things up. However, other stars did not feel this way and anticipated this due to their status as independent contractors.
The report says that there is a ton of frustration backstage over this. The frustration is not limited to the vaccine itself but also because there are reportedly influencial people near the top of WWE who “actively speak against COVID-19”.
More people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the days since Drew McIntyre tested positive. The report does not say who tested positive.
