WWE Show Almost Pulled From Air During Big Segment WWE

An interesting backstage update has emerged on the final episode of WWE NXT on the USA Network almost being pulled from the air.

This past Tuesday’s (September 24) NXT episode was the company’s last set to air on USA, with the gold brand shows to be broadcast on CW from October 1.

In the final moments of the show, NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez came face to face with her upcoming challenger Giulia. The duo were interrupted by Stephanie Vaquer, who made her first NXT TV appearance ‘via satellite’.

A new report has revealed that the show was almost pulled from the air.

Per Fightful Select, the show’s long overrun almost resulted in the episode being pulled from the air by the USA Network. The show finished with just seconds to go, per the report.

Fightful also noted that the show was referred to as ‘Goodbye USA’ internally.

NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez will defend her gold against Giulia on Tuesday’s (October 1) CW premiere episode.

Shawn Michaels has teased ‘big surprises’ for both the NXT men’s and women’s divisions, which you can read more about right here.
