Big changes have been teased for NXT’s premiere on CW by WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels.
With the September 24 NXT episode being the last to take place on the USA Network, the gold brand is now preparing for its premiere on the CW Network on October 1.
Ahead of NXT’s debut on its new network, Shawn Michaels has hinted that there will be several big changes made to the presentation of NXT TV.
Speaking with the Chicago Tribune, Michaels said:
“Certainly we want to make a big splash on the CW Network. We’ll have some big changes, but I think more of that will be from a look and physical standpoint.
“We will still be what NXT is, which is bringing some of the most talented, young, diverse athletes in all of the nation, and developing them into the WWE superstars of tomorrow.
“The hunger, the passion that’s always been the core value of NXT is always going to be there. But certainly we’ll try to put on some pretty cool bells and whistles for the CW launch on Oct. 1.”
Several big title matches will take place on October 1, with Roxanne Perez to defend the NXT Women’s Title against Giulia.
The NXT Championship will be on the line when Ethan Page defends against Trick Williams in a match officiated by CM Punk.
