An update has emerged on a new WWE in-ring show, which is expected to premiere in the next few months.
As was initially reported by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter earlier this month, WWE is set to replace its previous ‘NXT Level Up’ show with ‘NXT Evolve’, seemingly reviving the former indie brand Evolve.
Gabe Sapolsky, who was notably a founder of the original Evolve Wrestling, will reportedly be working on NXT Evolve.
Sean Ross Sapp has provided an update on the development of this show on Fightful Select. Per Sapp, WWE had the concept for this show ‘years ago’, but it didn’t come out well when they did filming.
Sapp pointed out that this new show isn’t necessarily tied to that old concept, and is expected to involve a ‘completely new approach’.
Evolve notably formed a working relationship with WWE ahead of WWE purchasing the Evolve in July 2020.
Dave Meltzer originally reported that similar to Level Up, NXT Evolve will utilise developmental names who aren’t regularly featured on the main NXT show.
