It’s been a while since WWE NXT went from its 2.0 branding to what it is now and some of the love for the product appears to have returned.
But, not everybody feels that way.
Former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr made his opinion of the once loved wrestling product clear on his Wrestling With Freddie podcast.
Addressing the subject of wrestling products that he used to watch but now doesn’t, he said that he’d give Impact Wrestling another go.
Admitting that he hasn’t watched Impact since it was TNA, Prinze Jr thought:
“I know this; it’s going to be better than ‘NXT.”
He would explain further, stating:
“Because there ain’t nothing in the world worse than that goddamn show.
“I’ve given it a chance like once every six weeks.
“I’ll go, ‘Yeah, I’ll watch a little bit of it,’ and it is absolute garbage.
“It went from my favorite promotion –- when it was Black and Gold -– to unwatchable.
“Unwatchable like a local theater production.”
He would reflect on his most recent viewing attempts, concluding:
“The last two times I’ve tried, it was terrible.
“I really don’t like crapping on stuff unless it offends me what they’re doing to talent that I care about.”
The current version of NXT is led by Shawn Michaels.
Since Michaels took over the product, members of the WWE roster have featured on the show, including the current WWE NXT Tag Team Champions The New Day.
Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods defeated Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) at NXT Deadline on December 10 to win the belts.
