WWE NXT Live Results – November 27, 2019

WrestleTalk is back with live coverage of NXT tonight.  Tonight is the post-NXT TakeOver: WarGames and WWE Survivor Series show.

I’m sure we’ll see lots of fallout from TakeOver and lots of celebrating NXT’s dominance.  We’re also getting some great matches tonight too:

  • Undisputed Era defend their NXT Tag Team Titles against Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic
  • Lio Rush defends the NXT Cruiserweight Championship against Akira Tozawa

We’ll see if that is enough to take down AEW in the television ratings competition.

Ciampa vs. Balor

Ciampa and Balor are facing off in a match made earlier in the night.  Both men are claiming rights to the NXT Championship.

Balor hits some nice moves on the outside.  He hits a big dropkick sending Ciampa into the barricade.

Ciampa hits an air raid crash from the second rope.  Balor kicks out.  Out comes Adam Cole.

Ciampa punches Cole.  Balor with a roll-up.  Ciampa kicks out.

Balor grabs the title, but the ref grabs it.  Ciampa with a roll-up.  Balor kicks out.

Ultimately, Cole hits a kick and Balor hits a 1916.  Balor wins.

Cole climbs in the ring.  He flashes the UE symbol.  Balor does his hand pistols, but he then hits a Pele Kick on Cole.

Balor will not be joining the Undisputed Era.  That’s the show folks.

Vanessa Borne vs. Xia Li

Li wipes out Borne in about a minute.  However, the big story is Baszler and her cronies attack Xia Li.

Originally, I thought this would be to set up a feud, but nope.  It was just a way to some heat on Baszler.

She cuts a promo claiming she had the biggest night and was responsible for NXT’s success.  Crowd chants Rhea Ripley.

It works.  Ripley is out.

Ripley lets Baszler know shes’s after the NXT Women’s Championship.  Baszler and Ripley go face to face.

Nothing physical, but the main event should be.  Balor vs. Ciampa next.

Akira Tozawa vs. Lio Rush

Lio Rush is defending his NXT Cruiserweight Title next.  Akira Tozawa sporting a Raw shirt and red attire to remind folks he is on Raw now.

I guess the Cruiserweight Title might be open to anyone. These two guys are incredibly quick.

There have been some really nice spots.  A German suplex from Tozawa delivered to Rush from the apron to the floor was brutal.

There were also a couple of not so smooth spots. A double kick that didn’t connect and a few other spots looked a bit sloppy.

However, the crowd was very much into it the whole way.  In the end, Rush hit two Final Hours for the win.

Dakota Kai vs. Candice LeRae

Dakota Kai is working as a heel tonight and she’s doing a great job.  She’s working stiff and her offense fits the new personality.

Candice hit a tough-looking dive to the outside.  Commentary is putting over the kicks from Dakota.  Tom Phillips is doing an understated but quality job.

This match was a really great back and forth match between the two.  However, the match ends with Kai whacking LeRae with Nox’s stolen knee brace.

She actually busted her open.  As she goes for a chair, Ripley runs down and makes the save.  Ripley and Kai might be heading into a feud.  That’s a good thing:

Monsoor vs. Shane Thorne

Mansoor is on NXT and he’s facing Shane Thorne.  Mansoor picks up a victory on NXT.

The match was short.  NXT gives Mansoor a win when he’s not in Saudi.  Shane Thorne is an enhancement talent now.

The match had a few nice spots but was clearly a filler match after the tag team match earlier.  On to Candice/Dakota.

Candice LeRae is pissed off and going to get revenge against Dakota Kai

In a backstage segment, Candice talks about how she thought Dakota was her friend.  She says she’s not going to be facing her friend tonight.

Instead, we’ll be getting Teagan Nox’s pissed off big sister.  Candice vs. Dakota tonight.

Tag Team Title Match is up first

The match starts and quickly goes to a commercial break.  I know shows have to take commercials, but they could have just waited two minutes and started the match after the break.

During the break, Bobby Fish apparently gets injured.  When we come back, Strong has replaced Fish in the match.

Dijakovic and Lee tease some tension, but instead just toss each other around into Strong and O’Reilly.  I know everyone loves Lee and Dijakovic, but O’Reilly and Strong do such a good job of selling their power moves.

Adam Cole comes out and Keith Lee literally pounces him into the second row.  This causes enough of a distraction for Strong and O’Reilly to hit a double team finish on Dijakovic.

Undisputed Era picks up the victory.  Will Dijakovic take offense with Lee getting distracted?

Welcome to the Show!

So, NXT starts off with Josiah Williams having a full NXT party.  He raps with the full roster partying and the crowd was hyped.

Adam Cole and Undisputed Era came out and claimed responsibility for the success of NXT at Survivor Series.  Meanwhile, Riddle, Dijakovic, Lee, and Ciampa stand in the ring and just listen.

Ciampa then addresses Goldie.  He has his eyes clearly set on the NXT Championship and says no one stands in his way.

This prompts Finn Balor’s music to hit.  Balor responds that he’s standing in his way.  Ciampa challenges him to a match.

Looks like we’re going to get a Ciampa/Balor program.  And the NXT Tag Team Title match is up first.
