The real reason why Stephanie Vaquer started her WWE career in NXT rather than on the main roster has now been revealed.
Following news that Vaquer had signed with WWE in July 2024, Vaquer appeared on two main roster house shows in Mexico a few days later.
With Vaquer defeating Isla Dawn – who was a WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion at the time – at both the July 13 and 14 shows, there was a lot of speculation about the Chilean star potentially skipping NXT and making her TV debut on the main roster.
This ultimately didn’t happen, with Vaquer making her official NXT debut that October.
Speaking on Busted Open, Vaquer revealed that WWE asked her whether she wanted to start on the main roster or NXT, and it was actually her decision to start in NXT.
She explained that she wanted to take the time to make sure she’s fully equipped to be as successful as possible, recognizing that she needs time to learn English and the American/WWE style of wrestling.
She noted that while she initially chose the main roster, after thinking about it, she changed her mind to NXT.
Vaquer and Giulia will face off in a huge match at NXT Roadblock on March 11, with both her Women’s North American Title and Giulia’s NXT Women’s Title on the line.
The real reason for this match has been revealed, click here to read more.
