Former WWE star Donovan Dijak has reacted to winning an NXT Year End award, following his departure from the company.
WWE announced in December that Dijak’s match against Josh Briggs and Oba Femi for the North American Championship had been nominated for Match of the Year in the NXT 2024 Year End awards.
The former Retribution member shared a heartfelt reaction to this news at the time, noting that he really appreciated the nomination.
This match actually won the Match of the Year 2024 award, as was announced on Tuesday’s (December 31) NXT episode.
Dijak has now taken to Twitter to address his post-WWE departure win, writing:
I really can’t put into words how much this means to me. Thank you to Oba, Josh, Matt, Shawn, and Hornet for helping me create something special.
Stay tuned because we are just getting started. 🕶️
Dijak confirmed his WWE departure in June, revealing that the company had decided not to renew his contract, despite calling him back to the main roster in the late-April WWE Draft.
He last wrestled for the company on the June 19 WWE Speed episode, losing to Xavier Woods in their three-minute match.
