Despite having made a relatively recent jump to WWE NXT, has a former WWE UK star been written off of television?
The main event of tonight’s (October 25) NXT saw JD McDonagh taking on Ilja Dragunov as two-thirds of the Halloween Havoc main event did battle yet again!
After a big match on Saturday, the two former NXT UK stars went to war to settle an old score as there seemed to be a clear winner coming out of the match.
A hard hitting and entertaining match saw JD McDonagh continue his vicious assault on NXT by seemingly eliminating Ilja Dragunov from competition.
McDonagh won the match via submission hold after Dragunov was unable to respond to the referee, with McDonagh continuing the hold well past the end of the match.
In a classic wrestling trope signaling that someone may be headed for some time away from television, Ilja Dragunov was shown being transported out of the ring via stretcher as the show went off the air.
There is not a medical update on Ilja Dragunov at time of writing but WrestleTalk will keep you updated in the event WWE releases a statement regarding his status.
Elsewhere on tonight’s NXT, the shocking debut of the much anticipated The Rock’s daughter Ava Raine.
Also, a reunited team attacked the Creed Brothers, a star has returned from an unexplained absence to make a threat to the entire women’s division and new champs were crowned and then the decision was reversed.
