WWE NXT star Jordynne Grace has commented on the new role given to her for the upcoming Showdown special with TNA Wrestling.
Members of the NXT and TNA Wrestling rosters will clash on October 7, with two four-on-four interpromotional tag-team matches slated to take place.
With Jordynne Grace publicly requesting a spot on the card after being left off Team NXT for the women’s match, Ava has now announced that Grace will serve as the special referee for this bout.
Jordynne Grace took to Twitter to share the WWE NXT General Manager’s announcement video, writing:
Dont worry bby I’ll call it
RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE 🔥
Grace also shared the often-memed GIF of the referee from the WWE 13 video game glitching while giving a thumbs up, writing:
Don’t worry yall I got this
While Mickie James did appear in the 2022 Royal Rumble match as Knockouts Champion, Jordynne Grace’s appearance as TNA Knockouts Champion at the 2024 event marked the beginning of WWE’s continued working relationship with TNA Wrestling, with talent crossing over from both sides regularly that year.
It was announced in January 2025 that WWE NXT and TNA Wrestling had entered a multi-year partnership.
TNA President Carlos Silva has provided an update on the future of this partnership, click here to read more.
