WWE NXT star Niko Vance captured the Reality of Wrestling Championship from Danny Limelight in Booker T’s promotion last night.

In recent years, WWE NXT has entered working relationships with outside promotions, most notably TNA Wrestling.

Among those promotions is Reality of Wrestling, the promotion run by WWE Hall of Famer and NXT commentator Booker T, which has seen numerous NXT stars compete in recent years.

Niko Vance Captures Reality Of Wrestling Championship

On last night’s Reality of Wrestling event, Reality of Wrestling Champion Danny Limelight defended the title against WWE NXT star Niko Vance of The Culling.

It was Niko Vance who would end up coming out on top, becoming the first-ever NXT star to win the ROW Championship since the partnership began.

More WWE NXT Stars To Compete In Outside Companies?

There are a number of WWE NXT stars who compete in outside promotions following WWE’s partnerships, including Arianna Grace currently reigning as TNA Knockouts Champion.

With many names currently under contract with NXT, as well as the company currently scaling back on house shows, it remains a good benefit for both NXT and other independent promotions to allow wrestlers to compete outside the company.

The benefits of NXT stars competing outside the company include giving the developing talents more ring time to help speed up their development, as well as being able to face off with other wrestlers outside NXT and try out new things that they could later bring to NXT television.

There does also come with some potential drawbacks to allowing NXT stars to work outside dates, most notably WWE famously not playing nice with other companies, as well as them potentially having creative say in how their talents are booked in the promotions.
