A pair of former tag team partners teased a reunion on tonight’s WWE NXT debut on The CW despite a previous history of betrayal.
To kick off tonight’s NXT, Roxanne Perez defended the NXT Women’s Championship against Giulia.
The match came to its conclusion when Cora Jade appeared at ringside and attacked Giulia while the referee was distracted, effectively helping Perez retain.
In a later backstage segment, Cora Jade explained her return to the scene noting that while everyone is talking about Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer, they had forgotten about the “savior of the NXT women’s division”.
However, when Roxanne Perez joined the scene to ask Cora Jade why she helped Perez, Jade replied:
“I know we have history and everything, but I kinda like the woman you’ve become. And you’re still NXT Women’s Champion. You’re welcome.”
Perez replied:
“Who knows – maybe a common enemy could bring us back together.”
Jade famously turned on Perez and threw one of their tag team title belts into the garbage, ultimately vacating he NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship in July 2022 just after winning it.
Still to come tonight, an NXT Championship match featuring ‘All Ego’ Ethan Page looking to defend his title against Trick Williams with special guest referee, CM Punk.
