WWE NXT TakeOver Title Match Ran Nearly 10 Minutes Shorter Than Planned

Speaking with the media after last night’s NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day show, Triple H revealed that a big title match on last night’s event actually ran much shorter than the allocated time that was provided.

While speaking about the women’s title match between Io Shirai, Mercedes Martinez and Toni Storm, Triple H said that despite only going 12 minutes, the women were actually allocated 20 minutes for their title match:

“First off all, it was a spectacular performance from all three. As far as time goes, they had all the time they wanted. They had a window that was much bigger than that. I think bell to bell they went somewhere in the neighborhood of 12 to 13 minutes. I think that’s what they went to, but they had what they wanted.

“I think it was laid out at 20 as a window. They had what they wanted. I know there were a few things in there that didn’t go as they planned it. Not necessarily mistakes on their part, but you know, tables breaking, things happening outside of their control that made them go different directions.”

Triple H was referencing the moment during the match, which you can see below, where the announcer table unexpectably breaks without any real force.
