WWE Planning To Tape Upcoming Episode of NXT WWE

WWE are reportedly planning to tape an upcoming episode of NXT as the build up to Gold Rush continues on USA Network.

NXT Gold Rush was announced on the June 13 episode of NXT with two special episodes taking place June 20 and June 27.

So far, week one of Gold Rush will feature:

Seth Rollins vs Bron Breakker for the World Heavyweight Championship

Wes Lee vs Tyler Bate for the NXT North American Championship (with Mustafa Ali as special guest referee)

Malik Blade & Edris Enofé vs Tank Ledger & Hank Walker vs Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen to determine the number one contender for the NXT Tag Team Championship

Cora Jade vs. Dana Brooke

Week 2 of Gold Rush will air on the June 27 and, so far, features:

NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes (with Trick Williams) defending against Baron Corbin

NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton defending against Thea Hall

Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) defending the NXT Tag Team Championship against the winner of the week 1 triple threat match.

With a busy time ahead, Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required) have reported that the plan at the time of writing is to pre-tape the July 4 episode of NXT.

This does add up since NXT has been taping extra Level Up matches recently so they have an extra week’s worth in the can for that week.

According to Dave Meltzer, the Independence Day episode will likely be taped on either June 27 or June 28.

Recent main roster call-ups Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre, the current NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions, spoke about their time in the WWE developmental system.

They would also discuss their move to the main roster and the reception they have so far received.
