The overnight viewership figures for this week’s episode (July 20) of WWE NXT have now been revealed, and they spell good news for WWE.
As per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, the July 20 episode of NXT drew 709,000 viewers. This is an increase from the 705,000 viewers who tuned in last week.
As for the 18-49 demographic, the show received a 0.20 rating. This is also up, from last week’s 0.19 figure.
It is worth noting that the second hour of NXT was directly up against NBA Finals Game 6 between the Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks. The NBA game received a total of 12.517 million viewers.
On the July 20 show, Xia Li challenged Raquel Gonzalez for the NXT Women’s Championship. Following a twisting splash from Gonzalez, referees briefly stopped the match to check on Li’s condition.
It was reported that Li appeared okay following the match. The report noted that Li may have injured her ribs, however this hasn’t been confirmed.
Also during the show, the date of the next NXT TakeOver event was officially confirmed. You can read more about that here.
