WWE Star Undergoing Gimmick Change? WWE

With Von Wagner currently written out of WWE NXT, an update has been provided on the most recent episode.

In the closing moments of the September 5 episode, Bron Breakker laid out Von Wagner on the steel steps, seemingly crushing his head with the top of the steps.

On September 8, WWE provided an update on Wagner’s status stating “Due to Von Wagner’s past medical history, very little information has been released.”

The September 12 episode of WWE NXT gave an update on Von Wagner, with Vic Joseph saying:

“Von Wagner’s been diagnosed with a minor skull fracture. Thankfully Von was able to move slightly at the last moment to take away a full impact.

“However, due to his history of brain and skull surgeries, a timetable for recovery has yet to be determined, and he’s being closely monitored by leading specialists and WWE medical staff.”

In June 2023, Von Wagner revealed that he had to undergo brain surgery at the age of just 15 months old.

Following the surgery, he spent weeks in intensive care after surgery that took more than 14 hours to complete.

It was to treat a condition that restricted brain growth, requiring the lengthy surgery to repair it.

Baron Corbin hinted that we could be seeing something new from Von Wagner on his return, saying: “Von Wagner will never be the same again”.

This could suggest that WWE and/or NXT fans will be seeing something new from a returning Von Wagner.

Of course, it could also have just been a throwaway line, but if Wagner is going to be out for a period of time, it’s definitely possible he could come back with at least a different side to him if not a complete overhaul.

Fan-captured footage shared an alternative angle of the moment when Breakker brought the steps down on Wagner.

With Von Wagner being a “free agent” under the WWE Draft of 2023, he is able to appear on any of the company’s brands, although he’s only appeared on Raw once in a battle royal in May and has remained in NXT other than that.

Off the back of the Wagner incident, Bron Breakker is set for a match against Baron Corbin at NXT No Mercy.
