A former WWE champion has compared Brock Lesnar’s upcoming WrestleMania 42 match against Oba Femi to a low point in the PLE’s history.
The March 16 episode of WWE Raw saw Oba Femi answer the open challenge laid out by Brock Lesnar for an opponent at WrestleMania 42.
With Femi delivering his Fall From Grace on the veteran star, Tommy Dreamer would react positively to the moment Michael Cole said “holy s**t” on commentary.
The former WWE Hardcore Champion’s praise would be evident as he discussed Femi vs Lesnar at the April 18 & 19 Premium Live Event during a recent episode of Busted Open After Dark, saying:
“I mean, talk about being thrown in the fire, with Oba. There’s not a better, bigger guy for you to work. If they don’t have plans for you – because hell, he’s still not signed to a brand. But man, this match could be awesome.
“It could be everything you wanted from the first time you were supposed to get Brock and Goldberg, and due to the internet finding out that both guys were leaving, it was not good. Fans never gave it a chance.
“This is a money big man match that’s been made. Great job, great way to sell some tickets. I feel it will really help, just by that reaction of those people.”

Dreamer was less charitable when it came to Roman Reigns calling CM Punk “old” on last night’s Raw, criticizing that specific phrasing in a promo that he otherwise praised.
The Tarnished Goldberg Vs. Lesnar Match
With two WrestleMania matches in their shared history, the most recent between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg saw the latter become WWE Universal Champion in April 2017.
Prior to that, though, they faced each other WrestleMania 20 in March 2004, in a match that saw Steve Austin as the special referee.
That particular match would see both Lesnar and Goldberg at the end of their respective WWE runs, something that the fans at Madison Square Garden were well aware of, and they responded accordingly, raining boos and negative chants down upon the ring.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter rating for the match, which saw Lesnar and Goldberg not actually lock up for several minutes, would score just one-and-a-quarter stars.
The fan reaction would change after Goldberg defeated Lesnar with a Spear and Jackhammer combination, but primarily thanks to Austin hitting a Stone Cold Stunner on both men.
The Clock Is Ticking For Brock Lesnar
The upcoming match at WrestleMania 42 may be on the final run in Brock Lesnar’s WWE career.
Previously, it was reported that working plans for the retirement of Brock Lesnar would see his career come to an end in 2026.
This report came after John Cena speculated that Lesnar was set to retire at SummerSlam in Minnesota this August.
