It’s been rumored for a few days. Tonight, it was made official. Matt Riddle is officially on the blue brand.
Tonight, after a wonderful Otis and Mandy segment, Kurt Angle read a promo introducing SmackDown’s newest star, Matt Riddle. WWE basically was using Angle a legit athlete and wrestler to introduce Matt Riddle.

It seems WWE could be pushing Riddle as a legit athlete. Of course, the promo was then followed by a video package.
The video package put over the fact that Riddle was a laid back guy who gets serious when he needs too. SmackDown is quickly becoming one of the best rosters on WWE.
I’m imagining matchups like Riddle and Bryan, Riddle and Cesaro, Riddle and Nakamura, Riddle and AJ Styles, and even Riddle and Shorty G for that matter.
Also announced on SmackDown was a Women’s Tag Team Title match for next week between Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross vs. Bayley and Sasha Banks. This was set up during a Moment of Bliss on tonight’s show.

This is being used to continue the teased tension between Banks and Bayley. Eventually, the two will turn against each other and feud.
Speaking of feuds, it will be interesting to see where Riddle goes first. Who do you think would be a good first opponent for Riddle?
