Following NXT No Mercy, a new report has revealed WWE officials are “incredibly thrilled” with NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez.
At NXT No Mercy 2024, Roxanne Perez defeated Jaida Parker to retain the NXT Women’s Championship.
Post match, former NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion Giulia made her long awaited debut to confront Perez.
Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update, noting that WWE officials have been “incredibly thrilled” with Roxanne Perez’s development as a heel character during her current reign.
Perez turned heel earlier this year and went on to defeat Lyra Valkyria to become a two-time NXT Women’s Champion at NXT Stand & Deliver.
Despite appearing on the Raw After WrestleMania 40, Perez was not included in the WWE Draft 2024. Fightful Select reported back then that officials were planning on keeping on the NXT brand to further develop her character.
On the September 3 episode of WWE NXT, Giulia officially challenged Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship for the October 1 CW premiere episode in Chicago.
WrestleTalk will provide any further updates on Giulia and Roxanne Perez when they become available.
