Just over two weeks ago at AEW: Full Gear, MJF threw in the white towel for Cody during his AEW World Championship match against Chris Jericho.
This spot led to MJF shockingly turning heel on Cody Rhodes, starting a program between the former friends.
Last night during Survivor Series, Dominik Mysterio threatened to throw in the towel for his father Rey during his WWE Championship match with Brock Lesnar.
However, Lesnar instead threw the towel out of Dominik’s hand and decided to attack him. This then led to Rey and Dominik hitting an awesome double 619 on the WWE Champion.
Taking to Twitter during the show, WWE on FOX said that throwing in the towel had no place in WWE matches. This was accompanied by a picture of Dominik pleading with Brock Lesnar.
The tweet was obviously a jab at AEW for the ending to the Full Gear match between Jericho and Cody from a few weeks ago.
