Former WWE Star Reveals Why They’re A ‘Paul Heyman Guy’ WWE

A former WWE star has revealed the reason that they’re a Paul Heyman guy and the impact he had on their career.

Speaking to WrestlingNewsCo, Ken Anderson reflected on his time in WWE between 2002 and 2009, revealing that Paul Heyman was behind an iconic character trait.

Performing on WWE television as Mr Kennedy, Anderson would reveal:

“Paul Heyman came in, [and he] took over creative.

“He was like, ‘Tonight I want you to go out there, cut the ring announcer off, run him down, and then you’re going to do your own introduction. Only you know how to do it.'”

This would lead to the familiar scene of a microphone dropping into Mr Kennedy’s hands and his promos, including repeating his name twice to sign off his mic time.

Anderson would give credit to Heyman for how his career panned out, referring to himself as a “Paul Heyman guy.”

He would leave WWE in 2009 and join TNA during the same year, eventually becoming a member of the Aces & Eights faction before departing in 2016 and returning to the independent scene.

He would also reveal the reason behind the scrapped plans to become Vince McMahon’s son.

Anderson has also recently spoken about his history with Jeff Hardy and reflect on how the enigma “was a hero” to him, referring to him as a “good human being.”
