WWE star Dana Brooke has revealed that she made an interesting pitch for the 24/7 Championship before the title was scrapped.
WWE retired the 24/7 Title on the November 7 edition of Raw, with Nikki Cross throwing the belt into the trash after winning the championship from Dana Brooke earlier in the show.
Brooke, who spent most of 2022 in the 24/7 Championship picture, actually had another pitch for the gold before it was deactivated.
Speaking with Fightful Select (subscription required), Brooke noted that she put her heart and soul into her work in the 24/7 division, and was brokenhearted about the title being retired.
Brooke also revealed that she made several pitches for the future of the gold, and suggested for title to become a Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
WWE’s main roster women’s division doesn’t have an official midcard title, with the Raw and SmackDown brands both having one singles champion.
These championships are currently held by Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair, with Belair defeating Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Title at WrestleMania 38 in April 2022, and Flair besting Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Title on the December 30, 2022 edition of SmackDown.
For the women’s tag division, teams compete for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, which Becky Lynch and Lita won on the February 27 episode of Raw.
