WWE Planned For Vince McMahon To Be The Payoff Of Infamous Angle WWE

Brian “Road Dogg” James has revealed that Vince McMahon was originally intended to be the payoff for an infamous WWE angle.

During the July 4th, 2016 edition of WWE Raw, Kevin Owens was attacked by an off-screen perpetrator who threw a pie at his face.

While the incident was originally thought to leading to an angle, WWE dropped the story without revealing who the mysterious pie-thrower was.

Now it seems we have our answer, as Road Dogg addressed the unknown assailant on the latest episode of his podcast Oh… You Didn’t Know?:

“We never let out who it was I don’t think, it was going to end up being Vince [McMahon] but I think we just didn’t say.”

Owens himself made a similar (albeit slightly more abstract) claim several years ago in an interview with AJ of the AJ Awesome Show:

“The only answer I can give people is that in the end, even if it wasn’t him who physically did it, the one who ultimately threw the pie at me is Vince McMahon, because he’s the one who decided that pie was going to hit me in the face.

“And he wasn’t there physically to do it, but he’s the one who made it happen. That would be the answer.”
