WWE Planning A “Heavily Scripted” NXT Show

One of the most noticeable differences between main roster WWE and NXT is the style of promo that the stars give week in, week out, but apparently that’s all about to change.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, once NXT moves to the USA Network, the plan is for it to be heavily scripted, and far more like the average main roster promo.

WWE is reportedly bringing in a lot more writers now that NXT is going to be two hours long, so expect some more killer lines and segments like “sufferin’ sucotash” and “Bayley: This Is Your Life”.

Fine, let’s stop being pessimistic. For whatever reason, a lot of people seem to think that NXT stars are largely unscripted, but that’s just not true. It’s just that the scripts and lines they’re given are of a much higher quality.

Furthermore, they aren’t all checked by Vince McMahon before being read out, so he hasn’t got a chance to leech anything interesting out of it.

We are now just two weeks away from NXT debuting on the USA Network, and other than a championship match between NXT North America Champion The Velveteen Dream and Roderick Strong, we really don’t know too much about it.

What we can expect is some main roster faces and more Vince influence, but what that actually means, we’ll just have to find out.
