It’s being reported that WWE is planning to introduce another new championship, this one specifically being for the NXT brand.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer wrote that the plan right now is to introduce an NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship.
This comes off the back of the first ever Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic which was won by Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez at TakeOver on February 14.
They received their prize of a match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title against Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler on this past Wednesday’s NXT, but were unsuccessful.
NXT currently has its top title held by Finn Balor, the North American Title held by Johnny Gargano, the Women’s Title held by Io Shirai, and the men’s Tag Team Title held by Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan.
Ember Moon & Shotzi Blackheart appear to be an established tag team now, as do Aliyah & Jessi Kamea, Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell, and Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter, so it’s not a bad division already.
