**SPOILER WARNING: The following article contains spoilers regarding an upcoming WWE title change**
An update has emerged on WWE’s plans for a SmackDown star, following recent criticisms about his booking since returning to the company.
With Andrade making his WWE return in January’s Royal Rumble match, some fans have criticised the company for not utilizing the Mexican star to the best of his ability, with Andrade only wrestling one match since getting drafted to SmackDown in April.
In an interesting turn of events, Andrade won the WWE Speed Championship at Friday’s (June 7) WWE Speed taping, defeating inaugural champion Ricochet.
While this fueled rumors that Andrade will receive a push just on the Speed brand, and update has revealed that “El Idolo” won’t be confined to this online brand.
Fightful Select has now been told that Andrade is still likely to appear on SmackDown despite being booked to win the WWE Speed Title.
Andrade won’t be able to bring his new championship to SmackDown however, with Ricochet previously revealing that WWE has a deal to exclusively show the Speed Title on the X/Twitter platform.
It’s currently unclear when Andrade’s title win will air, however WWE Speed episodes typically air on Wednesdays. Ricochet’s WWE Speed Championship win did air on a special Friday edition of the X-exclusive show, on May 3.
