WWE Possibly Vacating Another Championship Update WWE

A new report has revealed whether WWE are considering vacating a recently injured Raw star’s championship.

In the build to WWE Night of Champions on Saturday, June 28, several current champions have sadly went down with injury.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan suffered a separated shoulder during her match with Kairi Sane on the June 16 episode of Raw and will reportedly undergo surgery, while WWE Speed Champion Chad Gable (El Grande Americano) is also facing shoulder surgery next week after being written off of TV on this week’s Raw.

As confirmed on WWE Raw, Dominik Mysterio’s scheduled Intercontinental Championship defence against AJ Styles at Night of Champions was called off due to a reported rib injury to The Judgment Day star.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided a positive update on Mysterio’s status, confirming that there WWE has no plans to vacate his Intercontinental Championship:

“It’s a rib injury, he’s not gonna be out for very long. They’re not gonna strip him of the title or anything like that.”

While it has been reported that WWE are not planning to vacate the Women’s Tag Team Championships following Morgan’s injury, the company were recently forced to do so with the NXT Heritage Cup.

Noam Dar was stripped of the NXT Heritage Cup last week due to injury – with Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo winning the vacated title on Tuesday’s episode of NXT (June 24) by defeating Tony D’Angelo.
