Former WWE Tag Team Champion Johnny Gargano of DIY has commented on potential on-screen reunion with his wife Candice LeRae.
After reuniting last year, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa of DIY won the WWE Tag Team Championships over A Town Down Under’s Grayson Waller and Austin Theory in July.
The duo became one of the most popular tag teams in the NXT “Black and Gold” era of the brand before Ciampa eventually turned on Gargano and got into a long rivalry with one another. The other prominent character during their NXT feud was Gargano’s wife and WWE star Candice LeRae.
In a new interview with TV Insider, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa was asked about a potential on-screen reunion with Candice LeRae. They said:
Gargano: You never know. I was with Candice in NXT many times. [Ciampa] has had a run with her in NXT.
Ciampa: Candice’s dream match, retirement match, Candice LeRae vs. Tommaso Ciampa at WrestleMania. Maybe WrestleMania 42 or 43.
Gargano: I don’t think that is real. It’s not real. That’s not her dream match.
Ciampa: She told me.
Gargano: It’s not. Her dream match is actually me and her versus Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.
Ciampa: It’s not happening. It should still be me.
DIY is set to face The Street Profits to determine the number one contenders for The Bloodline’s WWE Tag Team Championships on the August 16 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
