Potential Spoiler On WWE New Championship Plans WWE

A potential spoiler has been reported regarding WWE’s plans for the newly announced Women’s United States Championship.

On last Friday’s SmackDown (November 8), General Manager Nick Aldis made the announcement that a women’s mid-card title would be introduced – that being the Women’s United States Championship.

The announcement was a welcome one for fans but in the week that has followed we’ve had no news as to how WWE will determine who will become the inaugural title holder.

That is until now however, as WrestleVotes has reported that a tournament to crown the first Women’s US Champion will begin on tonight’s SmackDown in Milwaukee, WI.

In a post to Twitter, WrestleVotes would also reveal the first match in said tournament – a three-way between Candice LeRae, Bayley and B-Fab.

WrestleVotes’ tweet reads:

Sources indicate a Women’s United States Championship Tournament kicks off tonight on #SmackDown with a first-round Triple Threat Match: Candice LeRae vs. B-Fab vs. Bayley

As of now there is no word on what other WWE stars will be competing in the tournament, or whether this will be something that plays out exclusively on SmackDown.

We will provide further updates on the Women’s United States Championship tournament as/when they become available.
