A WWE star has potentially shifted his character after a recent interaction with a top star seems to have left a lasting impact.
On WWE NXT it seems that a recent interaction with CM Punk has inspired one former heel to change his ways.
The first ever “Gentlemen’s Duel” match would see a clean finish on tonight’s NXT, despite the rules revealing ahead of the match that there were several ways a competitor could be disqualified.
Lexis King picked up the victory without any chicanery as he also seemingly has continued to turn babyface.
King showed off his sportsmanship after the match, shaking Oro Mensah’s hand and raising his hand afterward.
Vic Joseph noted on commentary after the match that King had been inspired by a recent conversation with CM Punk.
Later in a backstage segment, he was incredibly complimentary to the No Quarter Catch Crew and The D’Angelo Family as he walked past them on the way out of the Performance Center.
However, there’s an argument that he was being way too over the top, so it remains to be seen whether his actions are genuine or not.
Also yet to be revealed, whether or not Randy Orton inspired change in either Nathan Frazer or Axiom after he was shown giving out the opposite advice.
In a backstage segment with the WWE legend last week, he advised the pair that “sometimes, we all need to find our dark place,” when referencing how being a hot head isn’t always a bad thing.
