Last night in the main event of Raw, Sasha Banks and Bayley successfully defended their Women’s Tag Team Championships against Kairi Sane and Raw Women’s Champion Asuka.
The match was rather good, was used to build towards Asuka’s Raw Women’s Championship defense against Sasha Banks this weekend at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules.
Speaking of Bayley and Banks, many people have speculated that the pair are going to turn on one another, leading to an eventual match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship next month at SummerSlam.
However, perhaps it is Asuka and Kairi Sane that are going to go head-to-head, as WWE has been teasing that the tag team partners will eventually come to blows, possibly even after Extreme Rules.
Following their loss on Raw, Kairi Sane and Asuka appeared on RawTalk alongside Charly Caruso and Samoa Joe. On the show, Sane told Asuka that she will be “ready for” her if she retains her title this weekend at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules
Kairi Sane: “If you want that match, I’m ready for Asuka.”
Asuka: “I want to face you.”
Kairi Sane: “Please. That is my dream.”
Reports have emerged suggesting that in May, the plan was for WWE to send Kairi Sane back to Japan to serve as a company ambassador in the country. However, those plans might have changed.
If Sane’s days as an in-ring performer for WWE are coming to an end, a feud and match at Asuka at SummerSlam could be a great way to send her off.
