WWE producer Shane Helms, also known as The Hurricane, has denied that the AEW ratings were a big talking point backstage at Raw.
With AEW Rampage having beaten WWE SmackDown in the key 18-49 demo in the 30-minute head-to-head this past Friday, it was reported that the ratings were a “HOT topic” backstage.
However, Helms took to Twitter after the show, writing:
As someone who was there, I didn’t hear one word spoken about it. Not a single word. ♂️
Now obviously there’s a chance that Helms simply didn’t talk to the right people and that’s why he didn’t hear anything about it, or really any number of things are possible.
The initial report didn’t specifically state whether the ratings were a hot topic among talent, management, staff, or whoever else.
