Report: WWE Producers ‘Hit Hard’ By COVID-19

Last week, it was reported that a number of WWE talents and staff tested positive for COVID-19. Multiple major WWE stars missed recent live events due to ‘the effects of COVID-19’, per WWE.

According to PWInsider, it is expected that the show will be re-written more than usual, due to stars testing positive for the virus, or being held off of the shows as a precaution.

It was noted that WWE backstage producers have been hit hard with COVID-19 in recent days, so WWE will only have access to around half of the usual number of producers to cover three hours worth of matches and segments.

It was also pointed out that there is a SmackDown house show scheduled for tonight (December 27), which adds to the pressure, as there likely won’t be any Blue Brand producers available to work on Raw.

Here is the currently announced line-up for tonight’s show:

  • AJ Styles vs. Omos
  • Damien Priest vs. Dolph Ziggler – US Championship match
  • The Street Profits vs. The Mysterios – RK-Bro Tournament final
  • Randy Orton vs. Otis
  • Austin Theory vs. Finn Balor
  • The Miz and Maryse renewing their wedding vows.
