WWE Star Says He’s Pushing For A Singles Run WWE

WWE SmackDown star Karl Anderson has commented on the possibility of an extended singles run, noting that he’s pushing for a solo run.

While Anderson is mostly presented as a tag-team wrestler in WWE alongside Luke Gallows, the OC member was featured in a rare one-on-one match on the July 28 edition of SmackDown.

Speaking on Out of Character with Ryan Satin,  Anderson noted that he’s dying for a singles run in WWE.

Noting that it all comes down to timing, he said:

“Yeah, I don’t know why I wasn’t in the Money in the Bank match. I’m down. Let’s get this rocking.

“AJ is the World Champion, Gallows can be the heater, and throw me in the ladder match.

“I’m dying for it. It’s just more about timing and waiting for the right story. I’m pushing for it. I hope for it.”

While WWE fans will mostly know Anderson from his tag-team success, the former Bullet Club member was an established solo act outside of the company.

Anderson made it to the finals of the NJPW G1 Climax round robin tournament in 2012, before losing to Kazuchika Okada.

Anderson was notably the NJPW NEVER Openweight Champion upon re-joining WWE in October 2022 and defended the gold in Japan up until he dropped the title to Tama Tonga at Wrestle Kingdom 17 in January.

Karl Anderson recently shared his thoughts on his current WWE run, which you can read more about right here.
