WWE Queen Of The Ring Tournament Gets New Name

WWE Queen Of The Ring Tournament Gets New Name

It has long been reported that WWE is planning a women’s version of the King of the Ring Tournament, especially after the company filed to trademark “Queen’s Crown Tournament” at the end of August 2021.

Andrew Zarian, who has been spot on with pretty much every report he’s made, has now confirmed on Twitter that the tournament will indeed be called the “Queen’s Crown Tournament”.

At least it isn’t “women’s tournament-like structure”.

Zarian has also reported previously that the internal plan is for the both the King of the Ring and Queen’s Crown Tournament to start on the October 8 episode of SmackDown, with the finals of both taking place at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on October 21.

If the women’s match does take place in Saudi Arabia, it will be just the third time a WWE women’s match has taken place in the country, with the first two being Natalya vs. Lacey Evans at Crown Jewel 2019, and Bayley vs. Naomi at Super ShowDown 2020.

Hopefully the Saudi fans will behave themselves better this time around. A fan infamously threw a water bottle at Natalya during her entrance at Crown Jewel 2019.
