WWE has announced an injury to Randy Orton following Kevin Owens’ attack on last night’s episode of SmackDown.
Randy Orton and Kevin Owens’ scheduled match at WWE Crown Jewel came to an end before it even began, with Owens attacking Orton before the match started, with the two brawling around ringside before Owens hit an elbow onto Orton through a table.
On last night’s SmackDown, Orton called out Owens again, this time with Owens hitting a Piledriver on Orton in the ring, a move that has long been banned in the company.
Orton was taken out of the show on a stretcher, with Cody Rhodes leaving with him, and WWE has now diagnosed an injury to Orton following the attack.
WWE shared an update on Twitter, noting that Orton has been diagnosed with a cervical cord neurapraxia, with no timetable for his return.
They said:
