An update has emerged on a recent WWE signing’s upcoming debut, ahead of this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw.
It was officially confirmed in July that former ESPN name Joe Tessitore would be joining the WWE commentary team.
Starting September 2, the new Raw announce team will consist of Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett.
Ahead of Tessitore’s first night behind the Raw commentary desk WrestleVotes on Twitter, have reported that many within WWE are “fired up” for the ex-ESPN name’s WWE Raw debut.
Noting that he’s expected to be working closely with Michael Cole at the beginning of his WWE career, WrestleVotes wrote:
Many within WWE, especially on the production side, are fired up for Joe Tessitore’s debut tonight on RAW.
A proven sportscaster with years of experience, including Monday Night Football, Top Rank Boxing, and multiple BCS bowl games, Tessitore brings a professional tone WWE has been seeking.
He’ll work closely with Michael Cole in the early stages, with Cole being a strong supporter of Tessitore.
Tessitore isn’t expected to be working onscreen with Cole, with Cole now part of the SmackDown announce team, so it seems that Cole will be serving as a mentor for Tessitore off camera.
A notable WWE name has commented on Tessitore’s upcoming Raw debut, which you can read more about right here.
