WWE Raw in Brief – August 6, 2018 – WrestleTalk

Ever watch Raw and think “didn’t I watch this last week?” because the show is so incredibly similar? Well, that’s kind of what happened last night, as other than a few segments, it was very much a case of copy and paste.

But let’s not dwell on that. Let’s focus on the main talking points of last night’s show, starting with Ronda Rousey’s Raw debuted, when she completely dismantled poor Alicia Fox in the main event. This is almost certainly the first time the words “Alicia Fox in the main event” have been used, but thankfully Ronda’s presence was more than enough to make this match worth staying up for.

The speed of her judo throws is pretty incredible, and the way she teases her armbar is genuinely threatening. She even went as far as fighting off Alexa Bliss who attempted to blindside her after the match. This is how you make someone look strong.

And in another moment of “wow this person now looks terrifying”, we saw a sit down interview between Renee Young and Paul Heyman. Holy crap that man act.

I genuinely felt so sorry for him. Their children are friends! How can they remain friends after what Brock did to Paul Last week? It was all completely heartbreaking and the fact that Heyman was crying for most of the interview didn’t help.

It made me genuinely think “oh man, this Lesnar bloke is pretty terrifying, isn’t he?” something I haven’t really thought about in months due to his absence. I still don’t think it’s going to change the outcome of the SummerSlam match, but I am so much more excited to see it than I was two weeks ago.
