WWE Raw Match Was Cancelled Before Travel Issues Came Into Play

WWE Raw Match Was Cancelled Before Travel Issues Came Into Play WWE

There were changes aplenty for WWE Raw last night (April 10), largely thanks to major travel issues affecting many of the wrestlers.

This led to some plans being scrapped and/or changed, some big names not appearing, and more. For the details we know on that so far, click this link.

However, there is one match that was cancelled for a different reason, not the travel issues.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the match between Matt Riddle vs The Miz – which had been advertised a whole week in advanced – was pulled from the show before the travel issues even became apparent.

Meltzer didn’t provide any further context on why it was cancelled, whether or not it was a Vince McMahon decision, or anything else, just that it was done before the travel issues.

McMahon was not backstage at Raw last night, but like SmackDown on Friday, he had, according to PWInsider, approved the original creative plans for the show without making any huge changes.

The Miz didn’t appear on the show at all, while Matt Riddle ran in at the very end alongside Sami Zayn to save Kevin Owens from Solo Sikoa and the Usos.

According to Meltzer, Riddle and Zayn were two of the wrestlers who had the issues with the delayed flight from Orlando to Seattle, and they actually only arrived during the third hour of the show to be able to make the run-in right at the end.

We’ll let you know if there’s further news/clarification on any absentees and scrapped plans from WWE Raw.
