WWE has sent a reminder email to fans ahead of tonight’s WWE Raw taping to download an app for a new way to participate in the show.
Ahead of tonight’s WWE Raw taping at Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, Washington there has been an email sent out to fans about downloading the The WWE Lightshow app.
The email stated:
This Monday during RAW, you will have the unique opportunity to participate in the WWE Light Show! We need YOU to help light up our Superstars’ entrances and so much more! All you need to participate is your smartphone and the @The WWE Lightshow app.
STEP 1: Download the @The WWE Lightshow app from your Apple or Google Play Store prior to arrival and accept permissions
STEP 2: Listen for announcements throughout the night from Ring Announcer, Lilian Garcia, on when to have your phone and app at the ready
STEP 3: Make sure the app is open, hold your phone high, and we’ll take care of the rest!
The app, which touts “a unique lightshow experience at upcoming WWE events” appears to have been released on November 24.
It is not known how many upcoming shows are planning to encourage fans to incorporate the app however, there is precedent for what the app will actually do.
The developer Soundpays also has recently debuted an app for the NFL’s Houston Texans where the effects were in full display at NRG Stadium.
When in use, the app controls the display and speaker on each individual device, in theory incorporating specific patterns of displays for individual stars.
In the email, fans are directed to “Listen for announcements throughout the night from ring announcer, Lilian Garcia, on when to have your phone and app at the ready.”
The first 30 minutes of Raw tonight is set to be commercial free with CM Punk opening the show.
We’ll keep you up to date with any developments as they occur during Raw.
