A top WWE star is not backstage at tonight’s Raw in Portland due to what a new report is calling a ‘creative choice made by the company’.
Tonight’s show is set to play host to the return of CM Punk, two weeks after the latest attack on him by Drew McIntyre.
According to a report from PWInsider Elite, despite Punk’s appearance, Drew McIntyre is not going to be in attendance for tonight’s Raw.
McIntyre was notably on last week’s Raw despite the premiere of his Hollywood movie debut, The Killer’s Game.
He appeared in a live in-ring segment with Adam Pearce to set up his Hell in a Cell match with CM Punk at WWE Bad Blood.
The report goes on to note that McIntyre is not only not backstage at WWE Raw, he is intentionally left off for ‘creative reasons’ and it is not related to an injury or anything of that nature.
CM Punk and Drew McIntyre have faced off in a pair of matches already, splitting the series thus far at one each.
While McIntyre defeated Punk at WWE SummerSlam (with special guest referee Seth Rollins), Punk was able to win their Strap Match at Bash in Berlin.
The third match of their series will be the aforementioned Hell in a Cell match at WWE Bad Blood premium live event in Atlanta, Georgia on October 5, 2024.
We’ll keep you posted with all the news surrounding tonight’s episode of Raw, which also features a World Tag Team Championship match between Judgment Day and New Day.
